Abstract Submission

We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for ForestSAT 2026, a hybrid conference to be held at the University of Florida, Gainesville, from May 4–8, 2026. Participants may choose to attend in person or virtually.

Types of Presentation

ForestSAT 2026 will offer four presentation formats, reflecting its hybrid nature:

🏛️ In-Person Presentations
  • Oral Presentation: 14 minutes + 4 minutes Q&A, delivered live at the University of Florida.
  • Poster Presentation: Presented on-site as a printed poster.
🌐 Virtual Presentations
  • Oral Presentation: Delivered online. 14 minutes + 4 minutes Q&A, delivered live and virtually.
  • Poster Presentation: Presented online. Details to be announced.

Abstract Format

  • Maximum 500 words
  • Written in English
  • Include objectives, methods, results, and significance
  • No figures, tables, or references
  • Note: Abstract submission is limited to three per author: up to two oral talks and one poster upon acceptance.

Abstract Statistics

    ForestSAT 2026 received a total of 480 abstract submissions from 49 countries, reflecting broad global engagement in forest remote sensing and geospatial science. The majority of submissions were in-person oral presentations (331), followed by in-person posters (75), virtual oral presentations (61), and virtual posters (13). Overall, 68.9% of abstracts were in-person and 31.1% were virtual, demonstrating strong interest in attending the conference onsite while still accommodating a significant virtual presence. The United States represents the largest contributor with 231 submissions, followed by notable participation from Italy, Germany, Brazil, Spain, and Finland. This diverse international representation highlights ForestSAT’s role as a key global forum for advancing forest monitoring, technology, and applications
